Journalist and Nonfiction writer

Kenneth R. Rosen, a finalist for both the Livingston Award for international reporting and the Bayeux-Calvados Award for War Correspondents, won a Clarion Award in 2018 for his reporting from Iraq. He is a senior news assistant at The New York Times, a Robert Novak Fellow, a senior fellow at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism, and a 2018 John Jay/H.F. Guggenheim Justice Reporting Fellow. His first book, a book of literary nonfiction about tough love treatment programs for juveniles, is forthcoming from Little A in 2020. As an independent journalist, his reporting from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the United States has been published by The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s, WIRED, The Atlantic, The Atavist, FT Magazine, Foreign Affairs, Al Jazeera, The New Statesman, and New York Magazine, among other print and web publications.
